Iniquity Gold Batch #6
Australian Single Malt Whisky
Australian Single Malt Whisky
Iniquity whisky is distilled by the Tin Shed Distilling Co in South Australia. The Bird featured on the Iniquity whisky bottles looks a lot like a double-headed Phoenix, an ancient mythical bird, it also resembles the Piping Shrike, which appears on the flag of South Australia. Sitting, as it does, on a strand of barbed wire, the bird proclaims their South Australian heritage and the difficult journey travelled in realising their dream. One head looks back to the distilling traditions of the past and the other looks to the future and their philosophy.
Iniquity Gold batches are few and far between and only come from the best of the best casks from this distillery.
Originally filled into a single Shiraz 225 litre cask in November 2017, six months prior decanting the cask was topped up with 2 YO Heaven Hill bourbon cask whisky to add complexity and take the sharp edge off the Shiraz cask whisky.

Intensely Fruity with figs, raisins and blackberry jam hit you first, followed by caramels, malt and charred oak, rounded out by orange peel, cedar wood and muscat notes. Amazingly there is essentially no ethanol bite on the nose here, which considering its ABV is astounding.
Syrupy and sweet, fantastic mouthfeel. Blackcurrants, woody spices, bready, cinnamon, ginger, citrus, clove with slight herbal notes of and minerality. Nice warmth here, but not much burn for the ABV.
Incredibly long finish, great way to end this spectacular dram. Buttered rye bread, sticky dark fruits, vanilla, citrus all dance along the finish as it tapers off, with a tannic oakiness coming late
